When I was a kid (and a big TV watcher), I loved watching the different variety shows that they produced in the day. One of my most favorites was “The Andy Williams Show”. Andy sang, there were famous guest stars, and as a quite young kid the thing I enjoyed the most were the comedy skits. The one I looked forward to the absolute most each week was one featuring the recurring appearance of the “cookie bear” (as I remember, a man in bear costume who came knocking at Andy’s door each week and wanting a cookie badly!). I also remember enjoying the regular appearances of that new act of the day “The Osmond Brothers”.
It’s sad to hear that Andy Williams is no longer with us – his TV show is a fond memory from my childhood, and I always loved hearing him sing “Moon River”.
